Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj's Birth Anniversary: All You Need to Know About the Erstwhile King of Kolhapur
Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj was the first king of Kolhapur.
He was born on June 26, 1984 in a Ghatge Maratha family, of Kagal village in Kolhapur and was named Yeshwantrao.
His father was Jaisingrao Ghatge or Abasaheb and mother was Radhabai. There were several kings in the history but he was the king who did not follow the caste discrimination in the poor peoples. He was the only king who brought people closer together considering humanity.
He passed away on 6 May, 1922 and his death anniversary was commemorated as Shahu Maharaj Punyatithi.
